FAQ

What is Naira Publishers about?

Naira Publishers, a subsidiary of Alumona Media Limited, is an independent Nigerian book publisher with a mission to put good books in the hands of readers.

What kind of books does Naira Publishers publish?

Naira Publishers publishes all kinds and genres of books through its three imprints — Naira Books, Kobo Books, and Cowrie Books.

How do these imprints differ from one another?

Naira Books is our traditional imprint through which we publish mainly fiction and nonfiction, and take full charge of the publishing process. Kobo Books is our self-publishing imprint through which we publish all kinds and genres of books, and the author bears the cost of the entire publishing and marketing processes of the book. Cowrie Books, another of our traditional imprints, caters to 12,000–15,000–word fiction writings.

What kind of books and authors does Naira Publishers seek?

Naira Publishers seeks writers in all stages of their writing career with unique ideas and stories to tell. We seek fiction and nonfiction through our Naira Books imprint; and nonfiction, memoir, poetry, genre fiction, motivational and general interest books, children’s books, and educational books through our Kobo Books imprint. Fiction of 12,000 – 15,000 words is published through our Cowrie Books imprint.

What is next if Naira Publishers decides to publish my work?

If your work is accepted for publication under any of the Naira Publishers imprints, a contract stating the terms of publication, royalties, marketing, and other details will be drawn. Upon signing the contract, we will work with you towards the publication of the work.

Do I have to pay for my book to be published?

Authors do not have to pay for books published under the Naira Books and Cowrie Books imprints. However, authors pay for the editing, publishing, and marketing services that go into publishing their books under our Kobo Books imprints.

Apart from book publishing, does Naira Publishers engage in other programmes or endeavours?
